Massoud Bakhshi was born in 1972 in Tehran. He is a
graduate of agricultural engineering who subsequently
studied photography and film-making. He began
collaborating with printed media in 1991, and is well
known as a writer, critic, and translator.
Since 1995 he bagan screenwriting and writing narration
for documentaries(or documentary series) and has till now
collaborated with five of them. In 1998, he began
directing short films and documentaries, and since then
has made six documentaries, a fictional-documetary, an
experimental film, and also two documentary series for T.V.
Three long-fictional scripts and eight short documentary
and fictional scripts are among his output.
Bakhshi's films have been screened in various film
festivals in Europe and US. Apart from winning awards from
Iranian T.V. and Iranian Film Writers and Critics Society,
he has also won the Silver Plaque Award from Video-Montecatini
Film Festival, and the Medallion of Austrian International
Film Festival for his much successful film, Identification
of a Woman. |
