Born in 1955 in Tehran. Graduate of Seda Va Sima Faculty in
film direction. Head of the Association of Iranian Film
Directors. Member of the Art Academy. Once, a member of the
Fajr Film Festival Jury, and three times a member of the
Cinema House Film Festival.
Filmography: 16 mm short " The Third Possibility"
(thesis for graduation with high grade), the short
documentary "Molk-e-Rey" (Tokyo and Montreal Film
Festivals), producer of more than ten short documentaries
along with directors such as Jafar Panahi, Bahman Kiarostami,
Hassan Makhmalbaf, Manouchehr Tayyab… that have been
presented in many film festivals like Locarno, Tokyo,
Chicago, Marseille, …
Feature Films: Assistant director of " The Cold
Roads" and " Report of a Murder" (both presented at Montreal
Film Festival), screenwriter and director of "Reyhaneh"
(1989) which was presented at some film festivals such as
Montreal, Berlin, Nantes, and Turin.
Director of " The Journey" written by Abbas Kiarostami
(1996) shown at San Sebastian, Sao Paulo, Hong Kong, and
London Film Festivals
Director of "The Deserted Station, based on a story by Abbas
Kiarostami, and a screenplay by Kamouzia Partovi (2002),
partially financed by French Cultural Ministry (Fond Sud
