Peter Wien was born in Berlin on 1940. During the war he
resettled in " Altglashuetten" in southern Germany and spent
his school time there . Afterwards he completed his study in
Germanistic,Romanistic and philosophy in " Freiburg " and "
Tuebingen " . During his study, he worked as a reporter in
"SWF" Broadcasting in " Baden Baden".
From 1966 he started working as editor and reporter at "SWF"
Broadcasting in "Baden Baden", and from 1967 to 1969 he
worked as a radio correspondent for the "SWF" Broadcasting
in Paris.
From 1969 he took over different functions at "SWF"
Broadcasting.
During 1978 to 1983 he was editor-in-chief at radio Beremen
and from 1983 to 1991 he was deputy director at radio " NDR"
in "Niedersachsen".
He began to collaborate with "ARTE " as editor-in-chief on
1991 in Strassburg.
In 1994 , he was Conseiller of the director of the programs
of ARTE and at the same time he was director of a cultural
magazine "Metropolis".
Since 1998, Peter Wien is at the head of the " Program
co-ordination " section and " principle Questions " at ARTE
Germany and he also is the responsible of the cultural
magazine " Metropolis."
Besides all these he teaches at different universities in "
Goettingen " and " Hannover " and is adviser to numerous
seminars, academies and meetings.
