Born in Lisbon, 15 July 1956.

Graduated in Cinema at the Conservatório Nacional
de Lisboa.
In October 1979 he joined RTP (Portuguese State Television). He was responsible for the cinema programming of RTP's Channel 2 (1990-92), of RTP lnternational (1992-94) and for the programme CINEMA POR¬TUGUÊS (Portuguese Cinema) in RTP2 (1994-98). Between 1994-98 he was in charge of Portuguese film production at RTP.
Since 1996, he’s the author and programmer of ONDA CURTA (Short Wave), a mirror of creative short films.
Film critic in the Press, Radio and TV.
Member of FIPRESCI.
In 1999 he directed his first documentary, "ULTRAMAR, ANGOLA - 1961-1963”, which won Best Video Award at Vll CAMINHOS DO CINEMA PORTUGUÊS (Seventh Show of Portuguese Cinema).
