A brief  history: 

19 years ago for the first time a national film festival had been held in Tehran. Very soon, it became the most important short film festival in whole country.
It encouraged the organizers of the festival to add an international competition section to the festival.
Since 7 years ago, Iranian Young Cinema Society (IYCS) organizes also an annual international short film festival in Tehran, which is the only professional and established short film festival in whole country.
In spite of the fact that the 7th edition of our festival will be held this year, we are proud that in the last years, we received short films from more than 35 countries around the world.
Besides the films in the international competition section, we dedicated programs to the short films from the countries: Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Netherlands and  England.
Considering that the year 2001 was declared as the year of  “Dialogue among Civilizations” by UN, we dedicated a competition section about this subject in our last film festival. The best films in this competition section selected by jury members, were awarded.
This year, the 7th edition will be held on October 21st-26th, 2002.
The festival programs will include the 7th International and 19th National short films, tributes to short films from other countries and some special programs.
