Partovi was born in 1955, in Rostam Abad. He began his
artistic activities in his high school's theatre group in
addition to making many short films for Damavand Free Cinema
Club. During his years in Dramatic college and Fine Art
Faculty of Tehran University where he studied Dramatic Arts
and Literature, he made many short documentaries and
fictions for IRIB. He made his first feature film, "The
Glasses", for Channel 2 while he was a student. His last
film, "Café Transit", will be presented in the Academy
Awards of this year.
