Mehrdad Oskouei was born in 1969 in Tehran. He is a graduate
of the Cinema and Teatre College in film directing. He began
his artistic activities as an actor in 1981. Oskouei has
made several short films since 1988, first for "Anzali Film
Club" and later for "Iranian Young Cinema Society". The film
"My maternal home, lagoon" made him a professional
documentary filmmaker. He has made 7 short fiction films and
15 documentaries and received 50 national and 16
international awards. He has been a jury member of a number
of film festivals and he is in board of founders of Short
Film Society. At present, he continues his career as a
photographer and filmmaker.
