Mohammad Mahdi Asgarpoor,Iran


Born in Tehran in 1963, graduated from the college of IRIB Television. He began to collaborate as a member of the cultural section of the Farabi Cinema Foundation in 1988. His film making activities began in 1987 by directing a 16mm film titled the Friend's Letter. Later he was appointed deputy director of the cultural section of Farabi Cinema Foundation and the deputy for Experimental Cinema at the Ministry of Cultural and Islamic Guidance. In 1992 he was assigned as director of children and young adults group at channel two of IRIB TV and in 1997-1998 deputy manager at channel two of IRIB TV and was managing director of Farabi Cinema Foundation from 2000 to 2002. The films and TV series he directed are, Flight to the Infinite (1991), The Sacred Footsteps (2003), and the series, Family Home (1990), The Highest Point (1992-93), Ruhollah (1995). and feature video North Breeze and South Wind (2005). He was secretary of 20th & 21st of International Film Festival of IRAN (FAJR), Secretary of 16th & 17th International Film Festival of Children in Isfahan, Secretary of the Ninth Cinema's celebration , Teacher of the college of IRIB Television. He was recently a member of jury competition Iranian cinema at 20th International Festival of Films For Children and Young Adults (Isfahan,2005).
