Soheila Najm, a university professor, researcher,
scriptwriter, and director, has had doctorate degree in
theatrical researches from Sorbonne University, and 23 years
teaching background in cinema and theater in universities.
Her works include translations and writings like “Japanese
Drama”, “The One Thousand Year Old Living”, “The Book of
Echo”, and numerous cinematic and theatrical essays in
reputable magazines like the Art Quarterly, the Book of
Echo, and so forth.
She has written 5 plays and 20 fiction screenplays, and has
written the script for and directed the short movie “The
Blood of Baft”, and the feature film “The Height of
Justice”.
She has been a member of the jury and selection board in:
the Iranian Film Festival (the House of Cinema), Kowsar
Theatrical Festival, the Roosta Festival, the Sima Festival,
the Festival of the Radio and TV Productions of the
Provincial Centers, the Festival of the Works of the
Students and Graduates of the IRIB Faculty.
She is a member of the Chief Council of the Iranian
Cinematic Teachers, the Scriptwriters Society, the High Jury
Council of the House of Cinema, the Cultural Committee of
the House of Cinema, several councils in IRIB, and the chief
editor of the magazine of the IRIB Faculty.
