Manoochehr Taiiab, born 1937 in Tehran, he is a writer,
translator, and film critic. He studied architecture in
Technical University of Vienna, Austria, and later graduated
in cinema and TV direction and stage setting from the Film
School of the State Academy of Music and Performing Arts of
Vienna, Austria.
He has written and directed more than 80 documentary and
educational films, teaching cinema in the College of
Performing Arts and Television in Tehran, and the
ex-chairman of the Cinematography and Photography Department
in the College of Mass Communication, Tehran.
Member of jury in the Children and Adolescents International
Educational Film Festival, Tehran.
Member of UNESCO jury in the International Film Festival of
Short Films in Cracow, Poland.
Member of jury in the International Documentary Film
Festival in Trento, Italy.
He has made documentaries such as, “Ceramics”, “The Rhythm”,
Friday Mosque of Isfahan”, Religions In Iran, Safavid
Architecture, “Isfahan,Geometry On The Human Scale” ,”Then,
The Soul Of The Mother Earth Complalned”, ”Hamrah-E Bad” and
has won prizes in festivals of Roshd, Berlin, Vienna,
Moscow, Locarno, and Trento (Italy).
He is the author of “Along with the Wind at the Heart of
Desert’s Loneliness”.
